Richard “Dickie” M. Badger, 63, of Memphis passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014. He was born May 27, 1950 in Detroit to George & Peggy Badger. He attended Memphis area schools and then entered into the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for over 15 years at Huff Contracting as a truck driver. Family remembers Rich as the kind of man that didn’t have trouble speaking his mind. He enjoyed the simpler things in life and loved watching NASCAR racing. He is survived by his mother, Peggy; daughter and her fiancée, Jessica & Robert VanDagriff of Oxford; her mother, Beverly; a step-son, David (Alicia) Witt of Clarkston; grandchildren, Jordan, Isabella, Travis, Wyatt, Brianna, Michael, Ryan and Nathan; brothers, Mike (Karen) Badger of North Carolina, Donald (Tammy) Badger of St. Clair, John (Dorothy)Badger of Marine City and Fred (Sue) Badger of Port Huron and his good friend and brother -in-law, James (Darlene) Huff of Memphis and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George; son, Richard, Jr. and a daughter, Tammy. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 24th in the Memphis United Methodist Church. A time to gather and share memories will be from 10:00 am until the time of service. The Reverend James Huff, pastor of Memphis United Methodist Church will officiate.
