Services for Shelton “Cal” Calvert, Sr., 83, of Chandler, are scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chandler Memorial Cemetery under direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Calvert died April 23, 2014 in Chandler. He was born December 22, 1930 in Krum. He retired from the United States Air Force after serving from 1950-1970, ranking as E-6 (T-Sgt.). He was a member of the Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge 1371 in Whitehouse. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Sharon Shriners, Sharon Shrine Jeep Patrol and Directors Staff, American Legion Post of Tyler, and the Air Force Sergeants Association.

Survivors include wife, Mary Calvert of Chandler, sons, Shelton Calvert, Jr. and wife Deby of Watauga, Richard L. Calvert of Keller, David B. Calvert and wife Jodi of Salina, Kansas, brother-in-laws, “Bo” Katen and family of California, “Punky” Katen and Family of Califronia, sister, Mattie Herrin of Plano, grandchildren, Graham Calvert and wife Debra, Carson Calvert and wife Shannon, Tara Calvert Worthy and husband Brian, Cade Calvert, Cole Calvert, Cai Calvert, great grandchildren, Hannah Harbert, Natalie Calvert, Landon Worthy, former wife, Rita J. Calvert of Keller, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Graham Calvert, Carson Calvert, Brian Worthy, Joe Currey, Matt Currey, and Vernon Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Cade Calvert, Cole Calvert, Cai Calvert, Landon Jack Worthy, the Jeep Patrol, and Director's staff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Galveston Shrine Burns Unit, 815 Market Street, Galveston, Texas, 77550-2725.

Visitation will be Monday, April 28, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
