Alicia Castillo Brooks

Alicia Castillo Brooks born on August 31, 1951 went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2014 at the age of 62. She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Agustina Cruz Castillo; son David Brooks. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Carl Brooks; daughter, Brandi Brooks Chase and husband Darren; son, Carl Lee Brooks Jr.; step-daughters, Patricia Brooks Ambrose, and Pamela McGarity and husband Mike; brothers, Antonio Castillo and wife Alma, Raul Castillo, Ricardo Castillo, and Roberto Castillo and wife Claire; sisters, Sara Otero, Angelina Davila and husband Michael, and Oralia Nolan and husband Donald; grandchildren, Carl Lee Brooks III, Trevor Ambrose and Julia Chase; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.


Alice was a devoted sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was involved with her church serving as president of the Guadalupanas at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, TX for 2 years. She enjoyed life to her fullest, savoring good food, enjoying music and being surrounded by family. She was an avid fan and cheerleader for anyone in the family who played sports, and made an effort to be at every game. She made many friends wherever she went and would brighten a room with her smiling face and personality. Alice participated in coordinating many successful family reunions which occupied many hours of hard work. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary and made sure to send her personal greetings to everyone. She leaves a legacy of love for family and a commitment to keeping the family united. She will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday April 24, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM in the Hillcrest Chapel. Family and friends will meet for a 10:00 AM Mass on Friday April 25, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, Texas. Interment will follow to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery.
