Virginia E. Ewan

Virginia E. Ewan, 99, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Monday evening, April 21, 2014 at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville.

Born July 21, 1914 in Perryton, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Clay and Anna (Mikesell) Crouch and was a 1933 graduate of Hanover High School. Mrs. Ewan was a member for many years at the Perryton Church of Christ but in recent years she was a member of the Meadow View Church of Christ in Frazeysburg. She was active in many Frazeysburg community activities and organizations. She was also active in volunteer work at Muskingum County Starlight School for many years. She enjoyed sewing, baking and gardening.

Surviving are four grandchildren, Todd Lacy, Jennifer (Jared) Cox, Robbie Beroset and Ryan Beroset; three great grandchildren, Trent and Blaine Cox and Tyler Lacy; a sister, Jean McDonald of Heath, Ohio; two sons in-law, Ted (Mary Beth) Lacy of Nashport, Ohio and Robert Beroset of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. “Bee” Ewan whom she married November 21, 1938 and who died January 4, 1983; three daughters, Martha K. Lacy who died November 7, 1996, Janet R. Beroset who died July 19, 2007 and Carol L. Ewan who died December 27, 2008; a brother James Crouch and a sister, Jane Stevens.

Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, April 25, 2014 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
