Marjorie graduated from Andover High School and worked as a switchboard operator in Danbury. She also worked in the mica mines and volunteered during WWII as a civilian airplane spotter. For over 40 years she worked at Ragged Mountain and had a kitchen named in her honor. She was very proud of her life on the farm and of the years of hard work alongside her husband to keep it going. Marjorie was also the town correspondent for the Record Enterprise. She was a 72 year member and Master of Blazing Star Grange and member of Pomona, State and National Grange. She was Past Pomona of the NH State Grange. Several will remember her love for composing poetry.
She married Willard E. Huntoon in 1953 and he died in 1988. She is also predeceased by two brothers, Alvin and Ernest Currier. Members of her family surviving include a son and his wife, Alan and Becky Huntoon and a daughter and her husband, Donna and Phil Sprague all of Danbury, NH; five grandchildren, Rebecca Huntoon, Dustin Sprague, Brianna, Samantha and William Huntoon and cousins.
Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. with services conducted by the Grange at 7:30 P.M.
