Michael A. DeMott, 52, of Lawrenceville died Friday at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, after a fiercely courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Manhattan, Michael spent the first part of his life in New York City before moving to Lawrenceville in 1989. He attended the Bronx High School of Science and graduated from Brooklyn College with a degree in English. He subsequently received a Master’s Degree in English from New York University. Michael worked at a number of Wall Street firms before spending the majority of his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he was a Research Officer.
Michael will be remembered for his incredibly sharp mind and quick wit. Michael loved movies, music, jogging, coffee, trips into New York City with his daughter and anything baseball-related with his son. Most of all, Michael loved spending his free time with his children. Predeceased by his mother, Elvira, Michael is survived by his wife Mary, his children Olivia and Matthew, and a loving, extended family.
Services for Michael will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville 08648. Interment will follow in the Lawrenceville Cemetery.
Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and again on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
