Mr. Ronald Ford Carlisle

U.S. Veteran

Funeral service for Mr. Ronald Ford Carlisle, 83, of Jackson’s Gap, will be Friday, April 11, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Jackson's Gap Baptist Church. Rev. Charlie Horton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Jackson's Gap Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Jackson's Gap Baptist Church.

Mr. Carlisle passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Lake Martin Community Hospital. He was born on March 21, 1931 in Jackson's Gap, Alabama to George Fred Carlisle and Clarice Vivian Nickerson Carlisle. He was a member and deacon of Jackson's Gap Baptist Church. Mr. Carlisle was a graduate of the last class of Tallapoosa County High School and worked in the #6 slasher room of Russell Corp. for 42 years. Mr. Carlisle served our country in the Armed Forces and was a veteran of the Korean War. He had a love for gospel music, hymns, and could play almost any instrument. He led many singings and revivals for many churches through the years. Mr. Carlisle loved his family most and always put them first.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ida Delores McGhee Carlisle of Jackson’s Gap; sons, Harold Leslie Carlisle (Ginger) and Todd Jefferson Carlisle all of Jackson’s Gap; grandchildren, David Carlisle, John Ford Carlisle (Lori), Candy Crocker (Brady), and Amara Evans (Chris); great-grandchildren, George Carlisle, Nic Carlisle, Owen Carlisle, Rebecca Crocker, Kyle Crocker, Alice Crocker, Ace Evans, and Cannon Evans.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerome Ford Carlisle; sisters, Aliene Walker and Louise Carlisle; and brothers, Hall Carlisle, Harold Carlisle, Nick Carlisle.
