Scott Shesler Stinson

Scott S. Stinson, 98, of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, April 6, 2014. He was born on January 11, 1916, the third child of Scott K. Stinson and Ella (Shesler) Stinson in Akron, Indiana. Scott was united in marriage to May B. Warner, and together they shared over 77 wonderful years of marriage.

Scott served his country in the United States National Guard for 10 years and 1 year in the US Army. He was a Mason for 75 years as of July, 2013. Scott was a stationary engineer for Marshall Fields for many years, retiring in 1980. After retirement, Scott and May moved to Lake Placid, Florida in 1984, and returned to Wisconsin in 2004.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, May; four children: Art Stinson, Florida/North Carolina; Scott (Janita) Stinson, Indiana; Gary Stinson, Fond du Lac; Nancy (Ken) Rheingans, Appleton; 12 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Joe (Gertrude) Stinson, Esther (Steve) Sisulak, Ella Mary (Jake) Frederickson.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 724 East South River Street, Appleton, with Rev. Jane Anderson officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
