Plainfield, NH – Hazen W. Fellows, 75, died Tuesday April 4, 2014 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. He was born on July 12, 1938 to the late Henry & Ethel (Maxham) Fellows. He attended schools in Enfield and enlisted with the National Guard and was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He drove a log truck for Peanie Goodwin, a lumber truck for Green Mountain Box and an oil tanker for Hartford Oil over the years. He later worked for the Valley News. Hazen also operated his own saw mill at home where he built pallets. . He Married Sally A. Williams on November 29, 1959; they built their home and raised their five children. Hazen enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino.
He is survived by his wife Sally, two daughters Sally Anne Avery and her husband Kevin of Wilder, VT, and Wendy Shiffer of Wilder, VT, three sons Ronald Fellows of Plainfield, NH, Scott Fellows and his wife Michelle of Plainfield, NH, and Bill Fellows and his wife Bridget of Orford, NH, a sister Winnie Dennis of Lebanon, NH, sixteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Anna Cutts and Brenda Fellows.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours today from 3-5 pm at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon and a funeral will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday at 11am. Burial will follow at the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon.
