Shanda Marie Rhoat

Shanda Marie Rhoat, 24 of Kalkaska passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 along with her baby, Neal, Jr. as a result of an auto accident.

Shanda is survived by her mother and father, Barbara and Kent Miller of Kalkaska; her father, Gordon Daniel Rhoat of Kalkaska; her companion and baby daddy, Neal Guss; her siblings, Daniel Scott (Justine) Rhoat of Kalkaska, Sara Roschel Miller of Wisconsin and Amber Rhoat of Kalkaska; and her grandparents, Virginia Bowman and Elmer & Billie Ketchum all of Kalkaska, and Arthena Barton.

Shanda graduated from Kalkaska High School. She was an Assistant Manager at Save A Lot in Traverse City and had worked there since she was 16. Shanda enjoyed camping, stock car racing, floating on the river and her dogs Bailey and Tyler. She was a beautiful person.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 8th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Kuiper officiating. Burial will be at Excelsior Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Shanda’s family, payable to her mother Barbara Miller, c/o 106 S. Cherry, Kalkaska, MI 49646.
