Joseph A. DeLorenzo

U.S. Veteran

JOSEPH A. DeLORENZO, age 81 passed away on  Tuesday  April 1, 2014 at Arden Courts in Yardley surrounded by his loving family. Born in Phila., he resided in Bensalem for over 45 years. Joseph was U.S. Army veteran  of the Korean War  where he was awarded the Bronze Star  for his service and attained the rank of Corporal. A successful business owner, he operated several Thriftway  supermarkets with his family over the years, with locations in Trooper, Penndel and Sanatoga, Pa., and Cryrtal Lake N.J. He loved to travel, swim in the ocean and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his  beloved wife Josephine DeLorenzo ( nee Curran ) and his brother Carmen DeLorenzo;  loving father of Joseph DeLorenzo ( Sheryl ), Rita Codagnone ( Joseph ), Marianne Ball ( Michael ), Christine DeLorenzo and Michael DeLorenzo ( Jennifer ); devoted brother of Raymond DeLorenzo ( Dolores ) ; loving grandfather of Jennifer, Joseph, Nicole, Nicholas, Caitlyn, Megan, Kevin, Dylan and Michaela; great grandfather of Ryan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings MONDAY evening  from 7:00--9:00pm and TUESDAY morning from 8:15--9:15am at the Fluehr Funeral Home 864 Bristol Pk. ( Rt. 13 ) Bensalem, Pa. 19020. Funeral Mass 10:00am St. Charles Borromeo Church Bristol Pk. and Hulmeville Rd. Bemsalem. Rite of Committal Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.

In lieu of flowers, contributions  in his memory may be made to the Penn Memory Center/Alzheimer's Disease Center.
