Evelyn Ille, age 83 of Lexington, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014. Evelyn Jo Kelley was born July 16, 1930 in Lexington, OK, the youngest of 7 children born to Owen Franklin Kelley and Dora (Qualls) Kelley. She grew up northeast of Lexington and attended Lexington Schools, graduating in 1950. While in school, Evelyn enjoyed playing sports and was a standout player for the Bulldog basketball team. A short couple of months later, she married her best friend and true love, Darrell Ille. They were married on June 27, in Purcell. Together they raised 3 children, 2 sons, Jerry and Gary and 1 daughter, Kathy. Darrell and Evelyn lived in Missouri for a time and Ohio for a couple of years, but always considered Lexington home. Evelyn worked 13 years at the Central State Hospital, Lexington Annex. She then worked 7 years at the Russell Insurance Agency before taking a job as the Court Clerk in Cleveland County. She retired in 1988 after more than 20 years of dedicated public service. Evelyn’s life was her family and she felt blessed to be able to follow her children and later her grandchildren in all of their activities and sporting events. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed canning and sewing and was a gifted quilter. She was a lifelong and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Lexington for over 70 years. She also taught Women’s Sunday school for many years. She will be dearly missed!

Her parents, O.F. and Dora Kelley;
2 sisters, Beulah Bass and Fern Wellman and
3 brothers, Albert, H.V. and Arlis Kelley.
Evelyn leaves behind:
Her husband, Darrell, of the home;
Her daughter, Kathy Grider and husband Harry of Lexington,
Her son, Jerry Ille and wife Marketa of Lexington;
Sister, Dorothy Tintle of Blommingdale, NJ;
4 grandchildren, Cale Ille and wife LaKeta of Lexington,
Kelley Ille of Lexington,
Amber Purtell and husband Clint of Frisco, TX and
Ashley, Lacefield and husband Scott of Lubbock, TX;
7 Great grandchildren, Chloe, Seth, Brooklyn, Jackie, Chip,
Tegan and Jenny;
Several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell. Send online condolences at wilsonlittle.com.
