Robert D. “Bob” Steenis, 70, of Kaukauna, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014. He was born September 27, 1943, son of Wilbur and Lillian (Guckenberg) Steenis. On May 18, 1968, Bob married the love of his life, Barbara Desten. He was a member of the United States National Guard, serving on the National Rifle Team, receiving numerous medals. Bob was employed by Miller Electric for 39 years, where he was accredited for three patents. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending time up north at the cabin near Tomahawk.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Barb; his children: Kelly (Greg) Stoegbauer, Connie (Jeff Everson) Kadubek, Jim (Kelly) Steenis and Daniel Steenis; grandchildren: Andrew, Matthew, Josh, Jenna, Derrick, Carlee, Autumn and Sawyer; a brother, Fred (Char) Steenis; a sister-in-law, Judy Steenis; a close family friend, Chris (Carla) Busse; his faithful 4-legged companion, Tag; and many other family members, close friends and hunting buddies.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Pete Steenis and father figure and mentor Floyd "Blackie" Blackwood.
