Rita Marie Bambenek, 69, North Branch, formerly of St. Paul, died March 27, 2014 peacefully surrounded by her family at the Hennepin County Medical Center. Visitation will be held at the O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home (575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul) 651-698-0796 from 4-8pm with the prayer service being held at 7:00pm Friday April, 4, 2014. Rita was born August 19, 1944, the daughter of Bruno and Natalia (Hoffert) Mulske. Rita was raised and educated in the Hazelton, ND area. After graduating from Hazelton High School, she joined the Woman’s Army Corp (WAC), in 1963. On October 7, 1966, she met and married her best friend, John Bambenek. Shortly after, the couple moved to St. Paul, MN where they raised their family. After the couple retired 17 years ago they moved to North Branch, MN. Rita enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, John; daughter Natalie (David) Franson; son Mike; grandchildren Hannah, Noah, Joshua, and Matthew Franson, and Tiffany Bambenek; great grandson Carter. Four brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruno Jr. and Sharon Mulske, West Fargo, ND, Jim and Betty Mulske, Champlin, MN, Roy and Kathy Mulske, New York Mills, MN., Todd Mulske, Cleveland, ND; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Josephine and Dennis Weichel, Bismarck, ND, Vickie and Larry Bambenek, Minot, ND, Karen Kautzman Bismarck, ND,  Joan and Daniel Meuchel, Mandan, ND, Sandy and Paul Kerzman, Bismarck, ND,  Carol and Paul Anderst, Bismarck, ND; and one sister-in law Cleone Mulske, Hazelton, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bruno Sr. and Natalia (Hoffert) Mulske; brother, Dennis Mulske; brother-in-law Michael Kautzman and niece Laurie Mulske. RITA will always be loved and deeply missed by her family and friends. Memorials preferred to help with medical expenses for Rita and her grandson, Matthew.
