Buddy Ray Hedges

Buddy Ray Hedges, loving family man who lit up our lives with smiles and laughter, entered eternal life Wednesday, March 19th, 2014, at the age of 82. Buddy was born May 5th, 1931 in McClain, TX to Willis Pruett and Pearl Hedges. Buddy graduated from Texas Tech University and, while attending, married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Seymour Hedges. Buddy adored Ann and the entire family they created together, from their children to their great grandchildren. The most important thing in Buddy's life was his family and he made sure each of them knew the pride he had in them. He spent most of his working days with the Department of Agriculture, at both the regional and state level, as well as with Texas A&M University. Buddy was a very loyal, hardworking man who took nothing for granted, as he appreciated even the smallest things in life. He was determined to brighten the lives of the people around him with his positive attitude, generosity, and encouraging words. It was always a good time and never a dull moment with Buddy Ray. He was the ultimate story teller, filling the room with laughter by bringing his jokes and stories to life. He was a spiritual, God fearing man who loved unconditionally and was passionately grateful to his Lord and savior for all he had. Buddy was preceded in death by his daughter, Jan Ratliff and granddaughter, Ashley Hedges. He is survived by his wife Ann Hedges of Lubbock, TX; one brother, Arthur Hedges and his wife Moselle of Amherst, TX; two sons, Mike Hedges and his wife Patricia of San Antonio, TX, Pat Hedges and his wife Annette of Baytown, TX; two daughters, Joan Hedges and Gay Hedges of Lubbock, TX; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other extended family, whom he greatly loved. Services to celebrate Buddy's life will be 3:00 pm, Saturday March 29th, 2014 at the Crescent Park Church of Christ in Littlefield with Rev. Ronnie Hedges officiating. Visitation with the family will be 1:30pm prior to the service at the Crescent Park Church of Christ.
