Ethel Taylor

Mrs. Ethel Jessie Graves Taylor, 64, of 23913 Walkers Mill Road, Stony Creek, VA, entered into eternal rest and peace on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. She was born July 17, 1949 to the late Virgin Winfield Graves and Thomas W. Graves. She was educated in the Dinwiddie County School System. She was employed at Carter Wallace, Inc. for over 15 years where she retired in January 2013. Until her health declined, she was most recently employed with Yours Truly, Inc. as a personal care aide.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Herlene Jones and Katherine Griffin and two brothers, Thomas Graves and James Graves.

She confessed Christ and became a member of the Little Bethel Baptist Church, where she currently served as a greeter.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband of 47 years, Freddie L. Taylor; daughter, Iris Taylor (Richard) of Carson, VA; son, Terry Taylor of Prince George, VA; grandchildren, Niasha Taylor, TyQuan Taylor, Terry Pride, and Donavan Dubich; sisters, Ann Paige Barnes (Arthur) and Emma Griffin of Stony Creek, VA, Virginia King (Saul) of Petersburg, VA, Sheila Graves (Franklin) of Prince George, VA; brothers, Wayne Graves (Thelma) of Emporia, VA, Jerry Graves of Prince George, VA, and Ralph Graves (Gloria) of Petersburg, VA; sisters-in-law, Thelma Bonner of Petersburg, VA and Elaine Graves of Fayetteville, NC; brothers-in-law, Waverly Massenburg of Petersburg, VA, William Massenburg of Petersburg, VA, and David Taylor of Stony Creek, VA; aunts, Glorine Walker and Cealia Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends among them Vera Farley, Linda Woodley, and Musheerah Rasheed. 

                A homegoing celebration will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Little Bethel Baptist Church, Stony Creek, Virginia, with the pastor, Rev. Dr. David L. Banks, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow at the Winfield Family Cemetery, Stony Creek, Virginia. The family will assemble at the residence at 1:15 on the day of the service. Viewing will be held at the McKenney Chapel on Monday March 17, 2014.
