Carlos Borom

Carlos Levere Borom was born on June 8, 1962 in Gary, Indiana to Champ and Selfie Lee Borom, the youngest of nine children.

Carlos Borom was baptized in Jesus' name at Christ Temple Apostolic Church under the pastorate of the late B.F. Hite, Sr.

Carlos Borom graduated from West Side High School in Gary, Indiana in 1980. He furthered his education at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Restaurant/ Hotel Management in 1984. This degree allowed him to serve as Manager for hotel chains such as Marriott, Hyatt, and Hilton. Carlos had a thirst for learning new things and taught himself how to speak Spanish fluently.

Carlos Borom had a common catch phrase, "Where in the world is Carlos?" which stemmed from one of the things he loved to do best, travel. His love for travel had taken him to countless cities, several states, numerous countries and six continents. After visiting Paris four times he named it his favorite city in the world!

Carlos Borom was preceded in death by parents, Champ and Selfie Lee Borom, 2 brothers, Wallace and John Borom Sr. and 1 sister, Betty Levy. Carlos leaves to cherish his memory 3 devoted sisters who also served as his caregivers for the past three months, Guster Borom and Annie Hall of South Holland, IL, Lovetta Gibson of Gary, IN; 2 brothers Eddie (Barbara) Borom, Sr. of Kennesaw, GA, Alfonzo (Shirley) Borom, Sr. of Merrillville, IN; and sister-in-law Bettye Borom of Merrillville, IN; 2 aunts, Irene Wynn of Hurtsboro, AL and Cora (Joseph) Thomas of Hurtsboro, AL; 16 nieces and nephews, 32 grandnieces and grandnephews, 4 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews and a host of cousins and several friends.

Carlos Levere Borom will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
