Betty Lou Cook, 83 of Duncan, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Country Club Care with her family at her side.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Couch officiating, interment will be at Rock Creek Cemetery, arrangements are under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
Family visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Betty was born February 2, 1931 in Hastings, Oklahoma to Ralph Mack & Ethel (McLemore) Brooks, a resident a Duncan for 40 years, she moved to Duncan from Waurika, Oklahoma at the age of twelve, she married her husband Gerald while still in high school and lived in the area for the next six years. Then traveled the U.S. with the military until 1975. Batty married Gerald Cook February 5, 1944, she was a homemaker & wife for 65 years , amother to four children, a grandmother to 17 grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; Gerald of the home, sons; Ralph Edwin & wife (Eddy) Cook of Amarillo, Texas, Roland A. & wife (Macquain) Cook of Colorado, Springs, Springs, Colorado,
Richard M. & wife (Carol) of Plano, Texas, a daughter; Rebecca L. (Becci) & husband (Jim) Murtha of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; Ralph & Ethel Brooks and a brother Chester Mac Brooks.
