Eugene “Gene” Joseph deRose, age 63, passed away on Thursday, March 13th, 2014 at his residence in Greenwood.

He was born on July 7, 1950 in Colombo, Sri Lanka to Joseph John Louis Anthony Charles deRose and Mary Juliet Philomene Miranda deRose. He married Barbara Sue Roman deRose on October 7, 1978. She lovingly survives in Greenwood. Other survivors include daughters, Natalie Marie deRose of San Francisco and Julienne Monique deRose (David Zachary) Souchon of Honolulu, Hawaii; mother, Philomene deRose of Colombo, Sri Lanka; brothers, Gerard deRose of Colombo, Sri Lanka and Jerome deRose of Canberra, Australia; sister, Maureen Paul of Colombo, Sri Lanka; nephew, Dion deRose of Brownsburg, Indiana; nephew, Gian deRose of Colombo, Sri Lanka; nephew, Jovan deRose of Colombo, Sri Lanka; nephew, Marcelline Paul of Colombo, Sri Lanka and niece, Jacqueline deRose Ahern of Canberra, Australia. He was preceded in passing by his father, Charles deRose.

Gene was a graduate of St. Joseph College in Sri Lan ka and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University. He received his MBA from Suffolk University in Boston.

He was an Accountant/Controller for Foamcraft, Inc. for the past thirty-one years.

Gene was a member of Saints Francis and Clare Roman Catholic Church; the Indiana University Alumni Association and a member of the United States Tennis Association.

Father Vincent P. Lampert will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 19th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Saints Francis and Clare Roman Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road in Greenwood, Indiana 46143. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 19th from 11:00 a.m. to time of Mass at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Saints Francis and Clare Roman Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
