Funeral Services for Katherine Elliott Pointer , 72 , Of Decatur who passed away Saturday , March 14, 2014 @ Decatur Morgan Hospital / Decatur General Campus will be Saturday, March 22, 2014 @ 1:00pm @ Calvary Tabernacle Pentecostal Church  (,1904 Alabama Hwy 24 Gordon Terry Pkwy. Moulton, Al. ) Where the Rev. Kenneth Rogers is the Pastor. With the Rev. Equator Black, Officiating. Burial in Trinity Mtn. Cemetery. Mrs. Pointer will be in church 1 hr before the services.

Katherine Elliott was born May 11, 1941 in Morgan County to the late Will And the late Maggie Griffin Elliott. She was the 10th Child born to this union.

Later the family moved from Morgan County to Lawrence County. She grew up in Oakville and attended Moulton Negro High School.

She confessed hope in Christ and became a member of Oakville Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved to Decatur, Alabama and began her fellowship with United Christian Bible Church under the Pastoral of Rev. Equator Black.

Katherine was employed at Holiday Inn & Russell Catering for many years. She enjoyed Fishing & Gardening as a hobby.

She loved being around people, and had a smile and a conversation when she met people whom she had not seen in a long time.

Her earthly life expired on Friday, March 14, 2014 @ 2:44pm @ Decatur Morgan Hospital / Decatur General Campus.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Charlie Sue Williams, Mary Ann Stover, Lola Burt Elliott, Betty Lee Carter, Hayl Pointer, Estelle Holland, Price Elliott.

She is survived by her husband: Bennie Dortch. 1 Son: Hardwick ( Angela ) Elliott. 4 Grand Children. 3 Sisters: Lavern Taylor, Opal Nell Williams both  of Oakville, Alabama. Alice Williams of Decatur, Alabama A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
