Joyce Wennell Bowling, 76, of Oklahoma City passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at her home.

She was born August 4, 1937 to Brandau Thornton and Marie Dolores (Downey) Hughes in Dallas, Texas.

Joyce grew up in Texas and attended Riley High School in Dallas, Texas. Her father was in the military and as a child she lived in Okinawa, Japan and the Philippines. She lived in California for a few years later moving back to Texas in the late 1980’s and most recently moving to Oklahoma City.

She married Ronald Bowling on July 14, 2006 in Gainesville, Texas. Joyce loved animals, gambling on the penny machines and slots and traveling. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kimberly Norseworthy; sister, Jeanette Hill; brother, Scott Hughes; and nephew, Eddie Hill.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Ron Bowling, of the home; daughter, Rhonda and Dave Ludwig, of Mesquite, TX; 2 grandsons, Kevin Norseworthy, of El Paso, TX and Kyle and Tina Taylor, of Chesapeake, VA; granddaughter, Kala and Dr. Roderick Hunter, of Harker Heights, TX; 5 great-grandchildren, Brandon Norseworthy, of Alpine, TX, Abigail Norseworthy, of Royce City, TX, Gabi Amaya Garcia, J. J. Taylor and Jacob Taylor, all of Chesepeake, VA; Sister, Dolores Goodson, of Mesquite, TX; several nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and her beloved dogs, Angel and Half-Pint.

Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Tecumseh Cemetery with Dr. Roderick Hunter officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
