Patrick Gene Behling, Sr. passed away at home on February 11, 2014. He was a native of Longview, Washington and a resident of Napoleonville, LA for the past 23 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Brenda Tew Behling. He was also survived by his children Patrick G. Behling, Jr. (Tara); Kristine Lacoste (Dennis) and Tammy Castelluccio; as well as survived by his brother Mike Behling (Johnnie), sisters Kathy Brower and Nancy Long (George), Patrick had five grandchildren. He is survived by his faithful companion “Turbo”, who went everywhere with him.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lillian Krumrie Behling and most recently by his oldest grandson, Jeremy Lacoste.
Patrick served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 until 1981; including three tours of duty during the Vietnam war; as well as serving in the Special Forces (Seal Team I). Before retiring from the Navy, Patrick was on loan to the Queen’s Navy in London for two years.
After retiring from the Navy, Patrick went to work for J. Ray McDermott in Amelia, LA as Diving Supervisor. He was recently contracted to Exxon-Mobile, working for them worldwide.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, both in his personal and professional life.
He was an avid Saints fan, enjoyed drag racing and restoring his ‘53 Chevy.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday March 9, 2014 from 2:00 PM till funeral time. Military Services will begin at 4:30 PM, with memorial service to follow at 5PM. Services will be held at, Palazzo Bernardo Hall 2244 Hwy 3120 in Donaldsonville, LA at the foot of the Sunshine Bridge.
