Dolores I. Hoffman, 99 ½, of East China, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at home with family by her side. She was born August 20, 1914 in Elmira, New York to the late John & Emma Lepkowski. She married Edward Hoffman June 2, 1934. He died December 17, 1982. Mrs. Hoffman was employed at St. Clair Plastics. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, enjoyed quilting and sewing, had a wonderful sense of humor and was a dedicated fan of the Detroit Tigers. She is survived by her children, Shirley Hurst of Brown City, Annette (William) Trudell of East China, Ruth Anne Weiss of Marine City, Sharon Gaffner of Wisconsin, Judy (Richard) Radzivicus of Minnesota and William (Dorothy) Hoffman of China Township; 12 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her special doggie companion, Emmy. In addition to her parents and husband, Edward, she was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Robert Weiss and Michael Hoffman; a son-in-law, Claude Hurst and five sisters. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, March 3, 2014 with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the service in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City. Memorials may be directed to Reverence Hospice.
