Iline A. Blomgren, age 93, of Iron River, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014, at the Memorial Medical Center, in Ashland, Wisconsin.
Iline was born, on July 4, 1920, in Iron River, the daughter of Emil and Jennie (Christenson) Hanson. Iline graduated from the Iron River High School in 1938. She and Leonard Blomgren were united in marriage, in Iron River, on September 8, 1941. She and Leonard moved to Los Angeles, California, and retired back to Iron River in 1971. She was a member of the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary #506, both in Iron River.
Survivors include; her brothers: George (Mary) Hanson, of Spooner, Wisconsin; and Eugene Hanson, of Duluth, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, and care giver, Jeanette Vetter, of Iron River.
Iline was preceded in death by: her husband, Leonard, on November 5, 1991; her parents; an infant sister, Emily; other sisters: Berdine VanCuren, and Gladys Wilson; and her brother, Fred Hanson.
A gathering, for family and friends, will be held at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, in Ironwood, beginning at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014 and continuing until the hour of service.
A Memorial Service, for Iline, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014, at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, in Iron River. Pastor Kristina Jensen will officiate.
Interment in the Iron River Cemetery, Iron River, will take place on July 1, 2014.
