A Time To Be Born - Johnnie Mae Harris Denson was born July 19, 1922 in Harris County, Shiloh, Georgia; to the parentage of the late John William Harris & Abby Lenoir Crawl Harris.
A Time To Love - She became a partner in Holy Matrimony to the late Walter "Pim" Denson, Sr., on February 16, 1940. Together they were blessed with nine children and one preceded her in death (Mary Lou Denson). She is also preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.
A Time To Work - She was employed at Callaway Gardens and Cagles for a period of time.
A Time To Serve - She joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She served many years as a Deaconess until her health failed. At the time of her death, she was one of the oldest Deaconess at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She was also an active participant in the Harris County Civic League, Habitat for Humanity, an avid charitable fund raiser, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, a loving and devoted grandmother and a transporter for those in need in her community.
A Time To Die - It was February 22, 2014, when God sent His angels to bare the soul of Deaconess Johnnie Mae Denson away from this world of trouble. She departed this life at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
A Time To Remember - Mother Denson leaves to cherish many beautiful memories three sons, Walter (Lillian) Denson Jr., Bobby (Betty) Denson, and Jimmy Denson; five daughters, Jeanette (Jimmy) Dunham, Carolyn Denson, Wylene (General) Woods, Sharon (Freddie) Trice, and Amy (Anzy) Hardman; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; one sister Emma Copeland; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
