Robert E. Eckerson of Pierport passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 16 at his home on Lake Michigan with his wife at his side.

Mr. Eckerson, 1945 graduate of Jackson High School and attendee of Michigan State University, was a former instructor in the Army during WWII. He retired from Sun Oil Company after providing over 30 years of service, working in various departments and ending his employment as a financial analyst in Philadelphia. After his retirement, Bob moved to Pierport, bought and ran Pappy's Bait and Tackle in Wellston with wife and son Rob, who runs it presently. An avid builder and wood worker, he and his wife of 59 years enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home.

He is survived by wife Patricia; two children Linda and Robert; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and sister Phyllis. He joins his youngest son, Richard, in Heaven.

Bob was the beloved patriarch of his family and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Hospice of Michigan, Manistee.

The Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva, is in charge of arrangements.
