Henry F. Claiborne

U.S. Veteran

Henry F. Claiborne, 86, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014 in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin. He was born on December 27, 1927 in Macon County, Lafayette, Tennessee to Willie Faust and Hester Bean (Hale) Claiborne. He married Janet Kay (Phillips) Claiborne on November 27, 1987. She lovingly survives in Franklin. Other survivors include children, Diane (Rick) Freed of Fishers and Jeff (Becky) Claiborne of Franklin; step-son, Tim Zervas of Franklin; grandchildren, Brent Waltz, Jill Waltz, Brian Croucher and Michael Claiborne; great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Zack, Gabby, Tommy and Maddie and one brother, Jerry Claiborne of Lafayette, Tennessee. He was preceded in passing by his parents, one brother, Fountain Claiborne and two daughters, Carolyn Vance Claiborne and Deborah Croucher. Henry attended school in Hillsdale, Tennessee. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He worked as a Barber in Tennessee. He later was employed by Arvin Industries in Franklin, retiring after forty-five years of dedicated service. Henry was a 50 year member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107, F & A M in Franklin. He was a Quarter Century member with the Arvin Credit Union. He enjoyed gardening and working outside. He also enjoyed fishing. A service will be conducted on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin where a masonic service will be conducted by the Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107, F & A M. Friends may call on Thursday, February 20th from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205.
