Kenneth J Lins, 87, formerly of Cumru Twp., PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, Lancaster County, PA, where he had been a resident for the past 14 years.
He was the husband of Shirley (Hirneisen) Lins with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Shillington, PA on April 16, 1926, he was a son of the late Harry and Helen (Boyer) Lins. He was a 1944 graduate of the former Shillington High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. He was a 44 year employee of the former American Safety Table Company in Mohnton, PA retiring in 1988. Ken was an avid sportsman and longstanding member of the Mohnton Fish & Game Protective Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Jeffrey Lins of Aliquippa, Pa.; Gregory, husband of Diane Lins of Sinking Spring, PA; Mark, husband of Jeannie Lins of Salisbury, North Carolina; and Douglas Lins of Mohnton.
Also surviving are four grandchildren: Jeremy, Seth, Megan, and Ian Lins; and a sister, Thelma Fitterling of Shillington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers: Richard, Carl, and Howard Lins.
Funeral Service and Interment will be private.
