Ruth Massey Barnett, 99, of Clemson, died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late V. Lowell Barnett for 44 years.

Born November 24, 1914 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Mary Jane Rochester Massey. She was retired from Pratt Read Company in Central. Mrs. Barnett was a lifelong member of Celebration Church (formerly Sandy Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church).

Survivors include her daughter, Zelda Kleister and husband, Gary of Anderson; two granddaughters, Jill Burgin and husband, Randall and Lisa Bowen; four great grandchildren, Madalyn Rose, Haley Rose, Caleb Burgin and Timothy Bowen; one sister, Velma Woodson and husband, Clarence of Sandy Springs; and one brother, Houston Massey and wife, Celena of LaFrance.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Winnie Wilson, Dorothy Massey and Mary Sutherland and three brothers, Robert, Roy and Sherman Massey.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Celebration Church conducted by Rev. Gerald Murphy, Delano McMinn and Ben Arnn. Burial will follow in Old Stone Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the home of Jill and Randall Burgin, 105 Pine Bark Road, Anderson.

Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to Celebration Church, P.O. Box 455, Sandy Springs, SC 29677.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Exalted Health & Rehab Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Massey.
