Gladys Marie Liddick, 80, of Waterman, Illinois, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center, DeKalb.
Born October 16, 1933, in Herrin, the daughter of Leslie and Nellie (McClure) Poff, Gladys married Kenneth I. Liddick on August 15, 1953, at First United Methodist Church, DeKalb.
A 1952 graduate of Bridgeport High School, Gladys worked 20 years as a secretary at the DeKalb Ag Waterman Plant. She was a member of Waterman United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her husband, Ken; children, Cynthia (Martin) Voss of Glen Ellyn and Karen (Craig) House of Royal Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Ryan, Dustin and Jacquelyn Voss, Colin Fagan and Kendall House; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Ruby Poff of DeKalb and Marilyn (Jerry) Martinson of Hinckley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Cletus and James Poff.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, at Waterman United Methodist Church, 210 West Garfield Street, with the Rev. Paul Lee officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at Fairview Park Cemetery, DeKalb. Cremation is by Anderson Funeral Home Crematory.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, February 17, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb.
