Danny Lee Christian

Danny Christian, 60 of Dibble, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord & Saviour on Monday, February 10, 2014. Danny Lee Christian was born June 3, 1953 to Marvin Christian and Laura Mae “Lamb” Christian in Norman, OK. Danny graduated from Dibble High School in 1971.

Danny was a lifelong resident of Dibble and was one of the founding members of the Dibble Volunteer Fire Department. He served the community as a firefighter for over 36 years. During that time, he served in a number of roles including several terms as Chief, and Assistant Chief. He was one of Dibble’s first emergency responders and received his EMR Certification which enabled him to go on fire and medical calls. He was an advocate for Muscular Dystrophy as he stood out at the Dibble crossroads to “fill the boot”. He worked tirelessly for the City of Midwest City as a service technician for fleet maintenance for over 25 years. After his father’s death in 1982 he lived and cared for his mother until her death in 2011. He was a servant leader and caring for others was his passion in life. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed the fruits of his labor from gardening.

Danny is survived by his loving brothers and sisters, all of Oklahoma; Sisters, Rama Sue Christian of Dibble, and Brenda K. Baker and husband, Ronnie of Ninnekah; brother’s Jackie D. Christian and wife, Brenda of Blanchard and Robert E. “Gene” Christian and wife, Lou of Norman; Ten nieces and nephews; 27 great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. He is survived by both active and retired members of the Dibble Volunteer Fire Department along with his many co-workers at Midwest City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 14th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Free Will Baptist Church in Dibble, officiated by Lewis Cox with burial following in the Dibble Cemetery.
