A funeral service for Vinetta A. Battat, 91 of Newark will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor William Wayt officiating. Burial will be in the West Carlisle Cemetery.
Mrs. Battat died Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Chapel Grove Inn. She was born October 31, 1922 in Coshocton County to the late Ross and Violet A. (Gault) Moran.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse for over 28 years in Dr. Mannino’s office. She also had worked at the Newark Health Care Centre and had worked private duty care. She had attended the Perryton and Cox United Methodist Churches. She was active with the Perryton United Methodist Women and Mt. Pleasant Ladies Missionary Society. She was a member of the Perryton Historical Society and the Licking County Historical Society. She was a member of the Licking County Genealogy Society and in 1972 served as the first president. She was an avid cat lover and enjoyed bird watching. She was very talented in needle crafts.
She is survived by a step-son, Rick (Nancy) Battat of Newark; step-grandchildren, Jennifer, John and Julie Battat; special friends, Carolyn (Steve) Bretz of Cincinnati.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Battat and a brother, L. Eugene Moran.
Calling hours will be observed one hour before services at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street.
