DOROTHEA D. APOSTLE January 10, 1928 – January 26, 2014

Dorothea Diamond Apostle fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2014. She was born in Athens and came to the United States in 1946. She was employed by Manchester’s Department store in Madison, Wisconsin until 1951 when she got married and moved to Pensacola where she was employed at Sams’s Style shop and later at Parisian Department store until her retirement in 1994.

She left behind to cherish her memory her husband of 63 years George; son John (Devanir); Sister Paula Diamond; Brother Steve (Ann) Diamond, Grandchildren Christopher Baucom, George Apostle and Maria Apostle; and Niece Nancee Diamond Zamorski.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Apostle Baucom; father and mother George and Anastasia Diamontopoulos and Sister Martha Diamontopoulos Fertis. Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday, 5-7 pm with Trisagion Service at 6:30 pm at the Funeral Home. The funeral service and internment will be on Friday at 11:00 am at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Father Matthew Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be: Gus Argeris, Gary Tringas, Henry Bressack, James Mohamed, Peter Stamatelos, Joe O’Neil, Charles Stamitoles and Chief George Dodge.

Honorary pall bearer will be: Michael Stamitoles, George Bokas, Fotios Bokas, John Scott, Ed Korolenko, Harry Pieratos, George Nikolopoulos and Harry Booras. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
