Richard Lynn Bailey, 64, of Astoria, died of breast cancer on January 22, 2014 in Astoria. He was born on November 3, 1949 in Portland, OR the son of Harold and Berthalee Daugherty Bailey.
Mr. Bailey was raised in Roseburg, OR and was a 1967 graduate of Roseburg High School. A journeyman baker since 1975 and a bakery manager, his work included employment at the Kienows Bohemian Bakery in Portland, Costco and several other bakeries, retiring in 2008. He has been an Astoria resident since 2000 after moving here from Portland.
He was a member of the Baker’s Union Local #114.
His hobbies and interests included motorcycles, flea markets, marathon walking and his family. Richard was a lifelong world traveler, adventurist and collector of memories.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Donald Bailey and nephew Bruce Phillips.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or Lower Columbia Hospice.
