Melvin Joseph Levier

Melvin Joseph Levier departed this life on January 20, 2014 at the age of 75. Melvin is the beloved Husband of Pamela Levier, son of the late Alma and Clifton Levier Sr. Melvin is the father of: Marion J. Levier (Lorna) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Martin G. Levier, Sheila L. Getter, Alma Jean Levier-Franklin, Melvina Levier, Belinda Peele of Columbus, Ohio, Michael D. Robinson, Felecia Robinson, and Demond F. Robinson (Allison) of Newport News, Virginia. Melvin has 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, his siblings preceded him in death Shirley Reid, Mary Evelyn (Kitty) Bettis, Josephine Levier, Clifton Levier Jr., brother in law Herman Reid, and he is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews other loving relatives and friends including a special granddaughter Dierra Dowell. Melvin is a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 318 Auburn Ave. Pontiac, Michigan. Melvin retired from General Motors Proving Grounds in 1986, a graduate of Hebert High School in Beaumont, Texas in 1959, served in Antioch's Nurses Ministry, and was a avid sportsman who loved coaching, bowling, dominoes, and cards. He will lie in repose at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road Pontiac, Michigan on Friday January 24, 2014 from 12 noon to 8:00pm his Celebration of Life will be on Saturday January 25, 2014 at 12 noon at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor James Lawrence, officiating his family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12 Noon Saturday prior to the Service, and he will be laid to rest at Perry Mount Park Cemetery.
