Charles Coy Bland

U.S. Veteran

Charles Coy Bland, 86 of Circleville, WV, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. He was born in Riverton, WV on January 10, 1928, the son of the late Robert Bland and Nora Nelson Bland Huffman. In July 1949, Charles married Jeanne A. Dove Bland, who survives in Circleville.

Mr. Bland attended Circleville High School and Solomon Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a classic car enthusiast and was known as “Cadillac Charlie”. He retired from Pepsi Cola Corporation as a Route Salesman after working for 20 years in Cheverly, MD. He was a Veteran of the US Army.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bland is survived by: a daughter, Charlene Bland Sepulveda and husband Robert of North Myrtle Beach, SC; 2 sons, Charles Larry Bland and wife Mary of Conway, SC, Lelian Randolph Bland of Jessup, MD; a sister, Ruby Swadley of Fredericksburg, VA; a brother, Wayne Huffman and wife Lois of Ft. Seybert, WV; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Bland Lester and fiance Bill Wickham, Hollie Noel Pailthorp and husband John; 3 great-grandchildren, Katy Coy Pailthorp, Tyler Pailthorp, and Annie Lester.

Mr. Bland's family will receive friends on Wednesday , January 22, 2014, from noon until 2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin, WV. Elder Richard Warner will officiate funeral services on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV, with Military Graveside Services conducted by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Pendleton County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
