Robert Dale Kelly, 64, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014. Mr. Kelly was a lifelong resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming.
He was born on July 19, 1949 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the son of Theodore Kelly and Julia Stefic Kelly.
He attended school in Rock Springs, Wyoming and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the Class of 1967.
Mr. Kelly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict from 1967 until 1972. He rank was Spc. E-4. During his tour of service with the US Army he received several medals including the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal with OLC, air Medal 1 O/S Bar, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service jStars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with sixty Device, National Defense Service Medal, and eight thousand miles driver badge with OLC.
He was a member of the American Legion Archie Hay Post 24 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His interests included fishing, hunting, was an avid Wyoming Cowboys Fan and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include three brothers Howard Kelly, Eugene Kelly, Terry Kelly and Allen Kelly, all of Rock Springs, Wyoming and two sisters Gail Bider and husband Matt and Sharon Fennell, both of Rock Springs, Wyoming; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothersTommy, Donald and Carl.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Military graveside and interment will be at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery in Rock Springs. Friends may call Tuesday morning at the chapel.
