Paul Michael Massa Jr., 70, passed away Monday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Paul and Jeanette (Cortez) Massa.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend whose smile lit up a room. He had a way to make people smile and laugh. Paul was an avid New York Giants and Yankees fan. He loved spending time with his family, his dogs, model railroading, carpentry, travel, work and Sudoku puzzles. His family was most important to him. His wife, children and grandchildren were the loves of his life.
Paul served our country in the Navy and, prior to retiring, worked for 27 years at the Tobyhanna Army Depot as a supervisor. After retiring, he worked full time as a courier for Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, the former Donna Rebarchak; daughters, Barbara Ann Forte and husband, Neil Forte III, West Hazleton; Brenda Lee Crosley and husband, Christopher, White Haven; Paula Michelle Costabile and husband, John, Hazle Township; and Tracy Leigh Herring and husband, Sam, Nescopeck; grandchildren, Neil IV, Giovanni and Aria Maria Forte, Amanda Grace and Laura Crosley, Gianna Marie and Louis John Costabile and an unborn grandson, Brayden Paul Herring; his sisters, Angeline Ecker and Jeanette Curnow, both of Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from Fierro Funeral Home, 26 W. Second St., Hazleton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Hazleton.
Interment will follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Hazleton.
