Rick died at home, surrounded by loved ones, at 11:30 PM on January 9th after a long battle with Alzheimer's and cancer. Rick was a wonderful husband to Linda, and a great dad to Dori and David, and was the beloved son of Rudolph and Dorothy Hauck. He is survived by other family members including: Jeanette Hauck, Laura Hauck Noiles, Nancy Hauck, Ruth and Donald Chambers, nieces and nephews, and will be deeply mourned by many close friends.
Rick was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Wantaugh, NY. After serving five years in the US Army, and reaching the rank of staff sergeant, Rick graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso. He worked in marketing and construction management for most of his career. He started a fulfilling second career with the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, where he worked with veterans dealing with mental health issues. He retired in Feburary of 2009, and traveled extensively with his loving wife, Linda. Rick will always be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, friendliness, and optimism. Rick was known to make everyone smile.
Memorial Service with a reception to follow at five o'clock in the evening on Saturday, January 18, Saint Paul Church, 1600 Grant Street, Denver, Colorado 80203. Burial will be in the summer at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
