Jeanne Ann Cousino, longtime resident of Petaluma, passed away unexpectedly December 28th. She was 71. Born Jeanne Ann Wasmundt in Toledo, Ohio, she graduated from Purdue University. While taking summer classes she met her husband, the future Dr. David Cousino. They celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary this past August. Jeanne went on to receive her Master's Degree in Special Education from Cal State LA in 1974. She was co-founder of the Learning to Learn Pre-Schools and Child Care Centers, a fixture in Sonoma County for 30 years. Jeanne loved travelling and in 2013 she went to Michigan, Idaho, Kauai, and on her "Dream Safari" in Africa. In recent years she and her husband divided their time between Petaluma and Sandpoint, Idaho. She is survived by husband, David, daughters Cynthia Dieckmann of Sacramento and Stephanie(Kevin)Sisson of Penngrove, son Brent(Cheryl)Cousino of La Jolla, her nine grandchildren Meghan, Hannah, and Rachael Dieckmann, Michael, Brittanie, and Emilie Sisson, Brook, Samantha, and Kennedy Cousino, sister Jane(Allan)Legon, step-sister Paula(Chris)Amberg, step-brother Tom Dorsek, and 87 nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A mass will be held Saturday January 18th at 1:30 pm at St. James Catholic Church in Petaluma with a gathering to follow at the Flying Cloud Farm. No flowers please. Jeanne was a breast cancer survivor and if desired gifts may be made to the 2014 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer San Francisco.
