Cova Jackson, 78, of Bledsoe passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital. Born April 16, 1935 in Leslie County, he was a retired coal miner and believed in the Church of Christ faith. He was a great husband, dad, papaw and brother who always had a kind smile and a gentle hand, who will be loved and missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Jackson and Sidney Brock Jackson; one son, Burley Jackson; one brother, Rufus Jackson; one sister, Ophie Joseph. Cova is survived by his loving wife of 58 years and eight months, Margaret Curry Jackson, Bledsoe; seven children, Cova Jackson, Jr., Chillicothe, OH; Sidney Jackson and wife Virginia, Hyden; Margaret Jean Farley, Harlan; Edna Miniard and husband John, Big Laurel; Kattie Harris and husband Brian, Richmond, KY; Minnie Kelly and husband Dewayne, Richmond, KY and Molly Farmer and husband Tracy, Tyner, KY; one sister, Della Mae Lumpkin, Corbin; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Sunday at the Greenhill Pentecostal Church, Bledsoe, KY. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014, at the church with Reverend Hubert Saylor and Reverend Kenneth Smith officiating. Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
