Ronald E. Williams, Sr., 69, of Huntington Township, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Roy and Lois Eveland Williams and prior to retiring, drove tractor trailer for Acme Markets for 28 years. Ron was a volunteer fireman and PA fire policeman for more than 30 years. He held multiple offices over the years including Chief, Assistant Chief and CPT of the Fire Police for Huntington Township Volunteer Fire Company. Mr. Williams was involved with his boys in both scouting and Little League for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working outside and had a great love for his grandchildren, great grandchild and for animals, most notably his dogs Whiskey and Lady.
Ron is survived by wife, the former Gail L. Perugino; sons, Ronald E. Jr. and his wife, Patty, Bethlehem; Mark and his wife, Paulette, Hanover Township; Richard and his wife, Michele, Clifton Springs, NY; sister, Loisanne Wolfe, Marlboro, NY; 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 6, 2014, at the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre with Reverend John McGahagan officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call Monday at 11:30 until time of service, at the funeral home.
