Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Betty Jo Davidson Coleman, 82, formerly of Morganfield, Kentucky, died early Christmas morning, December 25, 2013, at Palm Valley Rehabilitation and Care Center in Goodyear, Arizona. She is now with her Lord and Savior whom she loved and served for so many years. Betty was born in Salem, Livingston County, Kentucky in 1931, moved to Marion, and then on to Phoenix, Arizona in 1958 for daughter Diane’s health. Betty and husband, John William Coleman, returned to Kentucky in 1981. She worked for years at the local Hallmark store, The Paper Doll, and then later, was a deputy jailer at the Union County Jail. John and Betty moved back to Phoenix to live with their son, Charles, and daughter-in-law, Loraine, in 2006. Betty is survived by two sons, Charles “Charlie” Coleman and wife, Loraine; Larry Coleman, all of Goodyear, Arizona; daughter, Sherri Brunner and husband, Steve, of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Teddy and wife Glenda Davidson of Riverside, California; brother-in-law Otis Millikan; sister-in-law Linda Welborn; brother-in-law Bobby Coleman and wife Shirley; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband John William Coleman; daughter Diane Anderson; granddaughter Michelle Brown; great-grandson Kamdyn Caton; parents Ace and Verna Gibbs Davidson; and siblings, Helen Nunn, Glen “Ace” Davidson, and Sue Millikan. Funeral services will be held at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow the funeral at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion, Kentucky.
