DeQuan M. Ivy Bird, 20, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of South Bend, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 27, 2013. He was the beloved son of Maurice Bird and Charlotte Thompson and was born on September 14, 1993in South Bend, Indiana. DeQuan relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana several years ago and remained a resident there. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and his family, playing basketball; and he also enjoyed the venues of live entertainment. DeQuan was especially known for his big heart and his love for the people in his life. He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Maurice Bird and Charlotte Thompson, both of South Bend, Indiana; his three beautiful children: Amiah, Destiny and Jayden Bird, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; two grandmothers: Elaine Bird and Chris Blackmon, both of South Bend; one grandfather, Elton Thompson Sr.; four sisters: Barbara and Suevenna, both of Georgia, Maurica, and April, both of South Bend; three brothers, DeMonte Thompson, Maurice Bird Jr. and a special brother, Angelo Carralez; and a host of other relatives and friends. DeQuan was preceded in death by a sister, Lejanaé Bird; and a grandfather, Kenny Bird Sr.; a nephew, Jamar Thompson. Services for DeQuan will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in Clark-O’Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. and funeral service at 2:30 p.m.
