Ida Bea Bevins Nickelsville, VA—Ida Bea “Childers” Bevins, 78, formerly of Pikeville, Ky. went to be with the Lord on Monday (Dec. 23, 2013). She was in the comfort of her home surrounded by friends and family. Miss Ida was known best for her down home country cooking at Teddy’s restaurant, and for the many stitches of love sewn by her hands into so many hearts. She is preceded in death by her husband C.W. Bevins, son Charlie Davis, mother Esta Childers and father Delmon Childers, brother Ace Childers and sister Stella Maggard. Surviving are her two daughters Juliette Jessee and husband Brad of Nickelsville, Va., Wilma Lee of KY, her son Ruben Davis and wife Katrina of KY, brothers Quenton Childers and wife Jan, Tom Childers, Jackie Childers and wife Caroline, sisters Lois Potter, Gearldine Mcpeak, Fayetta Bevins and husband Marshall and May Henson and husband Paul, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and so many friends. Family will receive friends Friday (Dec. 27, 2013) from 6-8 p.m. funeral will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday (Dec. 28, 2013) 2:00 p.m. at Nickelsville cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
