Loretta “Liz” Barker, age 82 of Cumberland, entered into eternal life on Friday, December 20, 2013, at her residence. She was born May 20, 1931 in Cumberland to the late Hugh and Mallie Creech Bowling. Liz worked for years at various retail stores in the Cumberland area, was a homemaker and believed in the Holiness faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her children, Glen and Paul Barker and Linda Foster; brothers, Warren, Ken, Amos, Kermit and Wayne Bowling; and sisters, Ora Hughett and Bernice Cornett.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Kenneth Barker; children, Claudette Craiger (Jack) of Partridge, Joyce Polson (Lloyd Jr.), Charlotte Smith, Marcia Smith (Kenny Wayne) Judy Simpson (Steve) all of Cumberland; brother, Raymond Bowling; sisters, Monet Noe and Wilma Creech; 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 3 great- great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, KY on Sunday, December 22, 2013, between 6 – 9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013, in the Chapel at 2 pm with Reverend John Neal and Reverend Ron Oplinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Foster, Stephen Foster, Jeff Craiger, Michael Paul Barker, Cody Simpson and Kyle Simpson.
