IVANELLE McCARTY

Ivanelle McCarty, 101, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at her daughter Sharon’s home in rural Princeton at 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 17, 2013.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, December 20, at the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley. Additional visitation and funeral services will be held at Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville, IN. Burial will follow at Bluff Creek Cemetery in Bargersville, IN.

Ivanelle was born on August 6, 1912 in Morgan County, IN to William Grover and Sylvia Mabel (Baker) Groseclose. She was first married to Henry Edwin Ennis. She later married Clarence C. McCarty in Monroe County, IN.

Ivanelle attended Green Township schools and Martinsville High School in Indiana. Along with her husband Clarence, Ivanelle was a minister, serving in Hoopeston, Peoria, and Sheffield. She was a member of Harvest Community Church of the Nazarene in Peru. She also loved to travel.

Survivors include her three sons, George E. (Lola) Ennis of San-Tan Valley, AZ, Stanley R. (Judi) McCarty of Sevierville, TN, and C. William McCarty of New Meadows, ID; two daughters, Anna M. Sinnet of Greencastle, IN and Sharon K. (Joe) Colmone of rural Princeton; three step-daughters, Dorothy A. (Robert) Brown of Indianapolis, IN, Margaret E. Hawkins of Beech Grove, IN, and Marjorie E. Harper of Sarasota, FL; a brother, Theodore Harold Groseclose of Martinsville; a sister, Sarah Evelyn Hazel of Florida; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; a son, Edwin Ennis; a daughter, Minnie Doty Reynolds, two sons in infancy, Paul Dallas McCarty and John David McCarty; and three sisters, Helen Brown, Ilene Leo, and Catherine McCarty.

Memorials can be made to Harvest Community Church of the Nazarene.
