Fred H. Germann, 86 of Camden, died Wednesday December 18th, 2013 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born in Camden Arkansas on July 13, 1927 to Willie and Mae Bell Germann. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the United Methodist Men, and enjoyed volunteering with the food pantry. He was retired from the International Paper Company after 38 years. Fred served in the Navy in World War II aboard a mine sweeper in the Sea of Japan. Following WWII, he graduated from Henderson State Teachers College and was commissioned an officer in the United States Army. He served as an Infantry Company Commander with the 45th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He served for over 20 years in the Arkansas Army National Guard. He was a good father and husband who loved camping, boating, gardening and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Wilma Graves and Clementine Palmer. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Barbara Sandage Germann of Camden; a daughter, Brenda Germann, of Little Rock; a son Doug Germann and wife, Sharri Germann of Camden; and brothers Winston and Tarver Germann both of Camden, AR. Proctor Funeral Home of Camden is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday at Proctor Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Crum officiating.
