Terry Girard, 66, passed away December 13, 2013 in Rancho Mirage, California. He was born to Eleanor and Warren Girard on June 30, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois.
Terry served in the Air Force from Aug. 21, 1967 to Aug. 20, 1971. After leaving the military he met his wife Estella and married on Nove. 18, 1973. They had two children, Christopher and Kevin and lived in Pomona, California. Terry worked odd end jobs for awhile until starting a career with CDCR in 1985 at Chino State Prison. Both he and his family of four moved to Blythe in 1988, where he began working at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison. From 1988 til present he has grown to love Blythe and all the friendly people along the way.
He'll always be known for his outgoing personality and always looking out for others. But one other thing Terry will be known for was his 69' Nova drag car, the "NightStalker", that he would cruise down Hobsonway from time to time, and all the many trips to the river with all his friends. He lived life his way and now he gets to do it all over again with the man upstairs.
Terry is survived by his wife Estella Girard, his sons Christopher and Kevin, his daughter Michele Doherty, and his granddaughter Melayna.
There will be a Remembrance Ceremony on Dec. 21st at 2:00 pm at the Girard Residence. The address is 1586 Riviera Dr. and again, this is a day of remembrance and reflection not a funeral, so anybody who wishes to attend and would like to say a few words on his behalf are encouraged to do so.
