Mr. Clay Keef Brasher, age 74 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 12:50 am on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Metropolis. Rev. Glenn Coram will officiate. Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Antioch Cemetery in Rosebud, IL with military rites. Clay was a retired automobile mechanic and welder. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Metropolis and the American Legion Post #306. Clay served his country in the Army National Guard and Marine Corp. Clay is survived by his wife, Linda Brasher of Metropolis, IL; 2 daughters, Kathy Brasher of Fullerton, CA and Karen Delhousaye of Billings, MT; 1 son, Brian Keith Brasher of Garden Grove, CA; 2 step daughters, Gina Eckert and Deedy Silva both of Palm Coast, FL; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Churches, Alicen Eckert both of Palm Coast, FL, Alexis Delhousaye of Billings, MT, Drew Brasher of Anaheim, CA, Ian Eckert, Kevin Silva both of Palm Coast, FL, Montana Delhousaye of Billings, MT; several great grandchildren; 1 sister, Bonnie OOsterhoff of Anaheim, CA; several nieces and nephews. Clay was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Dorothy (Keef) Brasher; 1 sister, Helen Korte; 3 brothers, Buck Gurley, Charlie Gurley, and Leroy Brasher. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 from 10 am to 11 am at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Metropolis. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial/Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Project Hope Humane Society, P.O. Box 125, Metropolis, IL 62960, or Baptist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 579, Carmi, IL 62821 Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
